Vision

The vision of the UMY Faculty of Law was formulated as follows: “realizing the higher education of law with Shariah insight”. What is meant by the higher education of law with Shariah insight is the higher education of law which is leading and orientated towards Islamic values and teachings from both the process and the graduates.


Mission
The mission of the Faculty was formulated as follows:
“Producing leading Muslim law scholars intellectually, having moral integrity in accordance with the Islamic way of life and able to reinforce truth, justice, and honesty in accordance with Shariah.


Aims
Education within the UMY Faculty of Law aims to produce law graduates with the following competencies:

  1. having a good knowledge base of general and Shariah law science as the study basis and development of law science;
  2. having basic skills to apply the law science into field practices;
  3. being able to cope with the development of law science in globalization and able to solve problems interdisciplinarily;
  4. being able to compete in  the competitive field of the legal profession;
  5. having courage to reinforce the values of truth and justice based on Shariah in the legal professional field and in daily life.
